ClearSDN Dynamic VPN

Intro to Dynamic VPN

What if your ClearOS installation needs a secure connection to another location? Whether a remote user or second ClearOS location, a VPN (virtual private network) provides a secure, encrypted connection between points. In many cases, a VPN requires not only proprietary hardware, but a static IP address. A static IP address is not trivial to a business and downright hard to do at locations served only by a consumer ISP. Dynamic VPN tracks the location of your ClearOS installation in order to maintain a VPN connection between sites.

Benefits of Dynamic VPN

Dynamic VPN makes the IT admin's job easy. All you do is assign a VPN connection between devices or users and ClearSDN maintains the connection for you without the use of static IP addresses or proprietary systems.

How Dynamic VPN Works

A ClearOS installation maintains a communication link with the ClearSDN data center. Dynamic VPN uses the routing information for this connection to maintain routing location for VPN connections, whether with other ClearOS installations or remote users in the field. The location data is retained so that the VPN can be re-established as required. This is a great advantage for the IT admin.
