===== Overview =====
The Network Traffic tool is used to view network utilization on your ClearOS system.  This can be useful for:

  * Locating virus infected desktops sending out spam, viruses, etc
  * Pinpointing individuals abusing the network, e.g. downloading movies 
  * Checking for unusual network activity

If you did not select this module to be included during the installation process, you must first [[Software Modules|install the module]].

===== ClearSDN Services =====
{{clearsdn-icon-xxs.png }} The [[http://www.clearcenter.com/Services/clearsdn-remote-bandwidth-monitor-6.html|Remote Bandwidth Monitor]] service provides hourly bandwidth measurements from our remote system monitors. The service is an excellent tool for detecting unauthorized network usage and monitoring your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) quality of service.

Use the **update interval** to change the frequency for collecting network data.

Select the network interface to monitor.

==== Display ====
You can view either the **total bandwidth** over the time interval, or the **total network transfer**.
