Remote Port Monitor

Overview

The following document provides information on how to activate and configure the Remote Port Monitor service for your ClearOS system. For an overview of the features and benefits of the service, please review the service information here.

Requirements

  • ClearOS Enterprise 5.1 or higher

Activation

  • Login to your ClearCenter account.
  • Click on Systems Remote Port Monitor in the top navigation bar.
  • Select the target system from the list of active systems in your account.

Subscription

Select a subscription from the drop down list and make sure the service is enabled.

Custom Protocol/Port

If you need to specify a protocol that is not part of the default monitoring services, select Yes here. You will then be able to create your own protocol description and port mapping.

Protocol

Select the protocol to monitor. For example, HTTP is the protocol used to monitor a ClearOS web server.

Interval

Select the monitoring interval. If you find your Internet connection is intermittent, you may want to set a higher interval to avoid unnecessary alerts.

Status Reports

The Remote Port Monitor service includes a report of recent activity on your system.
