Overview
The following document provides information on how to activate and configure the Remote Resource Monitor service for your ClearOS system. For an overview of the features and benefits of the service, please review the service information here.
Requirements
- ClearOS Enterprise 5.1 or higher
Activation
- Login to your ClearCenter account.
- Click on in the top navigation bar.
- Select the target system from the list of active systems in your account.
Subscription
Select a subscription from the drop down list and make sure the service is enabled.
Resource
You can monitor the following resources on your system:
- Hard disk space
- System load
- Swap memory usage
Interval
Select the monitoring interval. If you find your Internet connection is intermittent, you may want to set a higher interval to avoid unnecessary alerts.
Threshold
The threshold level determines when the Resource Monitor should send an alert. The hard disk and swap memory usage is shown as a percentage of the total. While hard disk usage very much depends on your environment, we recommend setting swap memory usage to 50%. For most systems, we recommend a system load threshold of 50 (which is equivalent to a 5.0 load on standard Linux systems).
Status Reports
The Remote Resource Monitor service includes a report of recent activity on your system.
